Sedum “After Dark”
Common Name: Stonecrop “After Dark”
This sedum has striking near-black, deep purple foliage that intensifies under the summer sun.
In the fall, clusters of black buds burst open into gorgeous garnet red flowers.
Even after the flowers fade, the dark red seedheads add interest to your garden throughout the colder months.
This heat and drought tolerant Sedum is also a magnet for butterflies, making it a perfect addition to any bed or border.
Plus, if you leave it up during the winter, it will provide a food source for birds.
