Lycopersicon esculentum (78 days) Determinate. This wonderful tomato is grown for storage. It has a thick protective skin. No, it is not as tasty as those you will grow in mid summer, but it is far tastier than store bought at Christmas. The best way to achieve this is to plant late in the tomato planting season. Approx. 7,500 seeds/ounce.
Tomato Seeds – Long Keeper
When the plant is about 1/2-3/4 full of ripe fruit we harvest. Pull up the entire tomato plant, brush the dirt off the roots and hang it upside down in an area that will stay below 65 degrees. Don’t worry if the plant still has some green tomatoes on it, they will be fine later. Will last 6-12 weeks in storage!
